in 2016 I took a trip to California to visit our family. We stayed at the Solage Resort & Spa. A Hidden gem. Quiet, tucked away, and rejuvenating. A place I would definitely like to visit again.

Trying the Famous Chateau Montelena Chardonnay

If you’re in Napa Valley and love wine then you must try Chateau Montelena’s Chardonnay. This wine is not only a piece of history for California but it helped put California on the map globally for its wine. I had the fortune of trying this wine for the first time at the Solage Resort & Spa. We ended up buying a few bottles and having shipped home. This wine cannot be found at most wine shops or retail stores. It’s usually only found online or a shop that carries more exclusive wines. The exclusivity of it makes more sense if you see the film “Bottle Shock“. Watch below for the full trailer. But the winning Chardonnay from the 1970’s competition is now part of the collection at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.
